In her welcome address, the Associate Dean of the School, said “I feel elated to welcome you all to embark upon this journey towards professional excellence and wish you all the best. You people are a truly diverse PGDM cohort and the entire Asian Education Group wishes you well for an exciting journey.”
Dr. Anubhuti Dwivedi then talked about the AEG legacy of more than 25 years in education and elaborated how ABS strives towards excellence in professional education with the objective of developing leaders for the business world who can become assets for the organizations they join. She shared how ABS alumni have proven their mettle in the corporate world – thereby strengthening the ABS brand. She reiterated ABS’s vision of “Growth with Education” to bring about holistic development of the management students, and adding value for all its stakeholders.
Dr. Dwivedi then quoted Franklin D. Rousevelt to convey how “We cannot always build a future for our youth but we can always build our youth for the future”. She explained how ABS’s vision of Growth with Education is a philosophy which translates into outcome based education, with a focus on skill development and creating leaders who can build the nation by creating more leaders rather than more followers. She urged the students to take up Entrepreneurship as a career option and become job creators.
During the course of her address, the Associate Dean of the school introduced the students with the blended learning approach adopted by the school. This combines classroom lectures with practical skill based exercises and case studies and out of classroom club activities, live projects, industrial visits and much more. She explained how the b-school ensures that any student who joins us develops into a thorough professional and a conscientious individual.
Dr. Dwivedi then closed her address with words of encouragement for the new PGDM class to take every opportunity to explore new business models, and to experiment with new business practices at every level they work in their professional lives.
